Scribing circles was always rather difficult. Whilst I was at Faireys in Maidenhead, I devised a small piece of draughting equipment to create neat scribed circles. One lunch-time I went into the machine shop and produced a working prototype using some of the simple hand-tools and other facilities available at the time. I still have the prototype! I think this little tiny project was instrumental in my future career path, since shortly after this I left to study engineering at Reading and continued on to gain my HND with distinction.
